Iowa Rural Water Association’s 37th Annual Conference, the largest water and wastewater conference held in Iowa, is scheduled for February 13 - —15, 2012 at the Coralville Marriott Hotel. We are in the process of planning an exciting and educational event and we hope that you will join us.

General Attendee Information


Registration/Cancellation Policy

All conference participants must register. A full registration includes all training sessions, admission to the Exhibit Hall, Monday Welcome Reception, Tuesday lunch, and Tuesday Banquet ticket.

If written/faxed notice of cancellation is received by February 3rd, 2012, you will receive a full refund minus a $50.00 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after February 3rd, 2012. Meal Tickets are not guaranteed for on-site registrations.

If you have special physical or dietary needs, please indicate so on the registration form.


Hotel Information

Rooms have been reserved at the Coralville Marriott Hotel. Your reservations can be made by calling (800) 228-9290 or on-line at www.iowaruralwater.org . To register online, click on the Marriott logo and follow online procedures. A maximum of two reservations per person will be taken. Please DO NOT reserve more rooms than you will need as you will be charged a cancellation fee. Simply mention that you are with the IRWA Annual Conference to receive the special conference rate of $108.00. Deadline for reservations is Monday, January 30, 2012. Complimentary self-parking in the ramp is provided for overnight guests of the hotel. IRWA has arranged for Additional Parking on the southeast side of the Marriott Hotel near the Exhibit Hall Entrance during Exhibit Hall hours.


Parking

Complimentary self-parking in the ramp is provided for overnight guests of the hotel. In addition, for those coming in just for the day, there will be additional parking on the southeast side of the Marriott Hotel near the Exhibit Hall Entrance during Exhibit Hall hours only. There is no overnight parking available in the southeast lot.


CEU Information

Up to 1.3 CEU credit hours can be received for water treatment, water distribution or wastewater if you attend the entire annual conference. These may be split. Monday equals 0.3 CEUs, Tuesday equals 0.6 CEUS and Wednesday equals 0.4 CEUs. CEUs forms must be completed before you leave (if you are a Tuesday only registration or you leave early) or at the end of the conference on Wednesday, February 15th.


Welcome Reception

Be sure to join us for the Monday Night Welcome Reception from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Exhibit Hall at the Marriott Hotel. Don’t miss this chance to relax, visit with our vendors. In addition, games and prize drawings will be held.

Did you know that IRWA has a scholarship fund? Help support our member’s children in supplementing the costs of college by playing IRWA Scholarship Bingo. Purchase your card at the Registration desk for only $1.00. Get Bingo and win a prize! Plus, your winning card will be place in a drawing for a Grand Prize.


Opening Session

8:00 AM on Tuesday, February 15th will provide General Conference Information presented by Randy Pleima, IRWA Board President. In addition, we have invited former Norway, Iowa baseball coach, Kent Stock to speak. Speaking about how to live your life on a daily basis, Kent’s story is a testimony to the power of following your dreams. Many doors in Kent’s life have been closed, but it has always been the next door that leads to something greater. Kent is a firm believer in taking risks. He is a natural leader who strives to constantly excel and inspire others to do the same. His magical story will captivate and motivate audiences to think about, “How They Want To Be Remembered’!

Best Tasting Water Luncheon

Tuesday, February 15th at 11:30 AM we will enjoy a buffet lunch together in the luncheon hall at the Marriott Hotel. In addition, our “Best Tasting Water” contest will be held during the lunch. Our panel of judges will sample all entries and judge them on Taste, Bouquet and Clarity. See the Best Tasting Water flyer for additional details and the requirements for submitting your city or system’s water sample.


Banquet

The Annual Awards Banquet will be held Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM and is included with a Full Registration or Two Day Registration. The banquet meal will be a plated meal you can enjoy with your colleagues in a casual atmosphere. Our banquet is an opportunity to honor key system and community leaders for their commitment to the industry.


Hospitality Alley

After the banquet you are invited to “Hospitality Alley” on the 2nd floor of the Marriott Hotel to enjoy time with our vendors. Each Vendor will have beverages and games available for attendees to enjoy. Proceeds for this event benefit the International Rural Water Effort and the IRWA Scholarship Fund.
